What is Dynamic Currency Conversion?

Dynamic Currency Conversion is a service, which allows cardholders to choose between paying in their home currency or the merchant's.

How Dynamic Currency Conversion works

A merchant's customer has an alternative option to pay for his goods. With DCC the merchant can offer his client the option to pay in his home currency with the Best Rate Guarantee. The amount is final and fixed.

  1. When the cardholder taps their card on the Card terminal or inserts the card details in Smart Checkout, the service is activated

  2. The card's currency is detected

  3. The cardholder must select the preferred currency on the POS screen or Smart Checkout and complete the payment

The amount will be settled to the merchant in their local currency

The service is enabled when:

  1. The cardholder's card is issued by Visa or Mastercard

  2. The cardholder's card currency is not the same as the merchant's currency
