I want a refund for a purchase I made. What should I do?

If you would like to cancel a transaction or request a refund for a product or service you purchased, we recommend that you first contact the business (merchant) in writing and ask them to cancel the transaction or issue a refund.

If the merchant does not resolve the issue

If you cannot reach an agreement with the merchant, you can contact one of our representatives and request a transaction dispute. Please explain why you wish to dispute the charge and provide any communication you have had with the merchant.

Common reasons for a dispute

You may wish to dispute a transaction if:

  • You did not receive the product or service you paid for.

  • You received a different product than expected or the product was misleading.

  • You paid using another payment method (for example, a different card or cash).

  • You were charged for a subscription that you had already cancelled.

  • A refund or credit expected from the merchant has not been completed.
