WeChat Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service by WeChat based in China that allows users to make mobile payments and online transactions.

At online checkout, the consumer chooses WeChat Pay as their preferred payment method:
The customer is directed to a WeChat-hosted payment page where a QR code is presented:
The customer scans the QR code with their WeChat app to proceed:
They can then review the details of the payment:
The customer enters their password to complete the payment:
The customer then sees confirmation of the completed payment:

Merchant's account: Merchants do not need to have an account with WeChat Pay
Payment method type: Asynchronous - payments are not confirmed immediately, it may take up to 2 hours to receive payment confirmation. You need to set up webhooks to get notified for asynchronous payments
Refunds: Supports partial and full refunds
Recurring payments: Not yet supported
Pre-authorizations: Not yet supported
0% Cashback: Not supported
MOTO: Not supported
Cancellation: Supports cancellation
Disputes: Supported

Restricted MCC: Some Merchant Categories are not eligible to have WeChat Pay activated. Check the table below for more information

Customer countries: Available for customers in All countries

Settlement: Customer payments are deposited next day into your business account for confirmed payments / successful transactions (i.e. have statusId = F)
Cross-currency payments: Not yet supported
Additional notes: The Email address and Customer Name fields within Smart Checkout are optional

➡️Merchant Categories (MCCs)
There are some merchant categories that are not eligible to have WeChat Pay activated. If your business is in one of these categories, you will not be able to accept payments through WeChat Pay:
