How to Change the Idle Timeout Setting for Mini Card Readers and Pocket Card Terminals
For Mini Card Readers and Pocket Card Terminals connected to a device using the ‘Viva.com Terminal’ app (for Android and iOS), you can adjust the idle timeout setting, specifying how long (in minutes) the connected device will remain idle before entering sleep mode.
For Mini Card Readers and Pocket Card Terminals connected to a device using the viva.com terminal app (for Android and iOS), you can adjust the "inactivity timeout" setting, specifying how long (in minutes) the connected device will remain inactive before entering sleep mode.
Note:
If you set the duration to "Never" (the default setting), you will receive a warning that the device’s operating time may significantly decrease due to increased power consumption.
Steps to Modify the Idle Timeout Setting:
Access Terminal Settings:
Tap ‘More’ in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Open the ‘Card Terminals’ menu option.
Locate Idle Timeout Setting:
Under the ‘Additional Options’ section, find the ‘Turn off device when inactive’ setting.
This is the idle timeout configuration for your connected device.
Choose a Timeout Option:
Selecting ‘Never’ ensures the device stays powered on continuously.
Alternatively, choose ‘x minutes’ (shown below) to set a specific idle time before sleep mode activates.
Adjust the Timeout Duration:
For the custom option, you can set an idle time of up to 99 minutes.
Tap ‘Continue’ to confirm the changes.
Apply the New Setting:
The desired idle timeout will now be applied to your device.
