Guide for Selecting Viva.com Devices

The Viva.com Terminal App works on compatible Android and iOS devices, allowing you to use your own device to accept payments. Visit Introducing Viva.com Terminal App – Accept Payments Anywhere and review the Android or iOS section for device requirements.

For additional business needs, visit the Viva.com Shop and browse the available payment and non-payment devices.

Before choosing a device, visit Terminal Features, select the relevant device, and review its specifications to make sure it meets your business needs.

Which device should I choose?

First, consider how you plan to use the device. Do you need a device fixed on the countertop, or should it be portable? Do you need it to have a printer? Also consider the size of the device, the size of the screen, and the battery capacity if you need a portable device.

Another important consideration is whether you want to use the device for other operations in your store. Open-system devices, such as the Ciontek CS30PRO and CS50C, allow you to download other apps from Google Play and use them alongside the Viva.com Terminal App. Closed-system devices, such as PAX and SUNMI terminals, do not allow you to install and use other apps apart from the Viva.com Terminal App.

Use the table below to choose a device based on your business needs.

When should I choose a Mini Card Reader?

Consider a Mini Card Reader if:

  • You want to use the Viva.com Terminal App on a tablet or mobile phone with an NFC reader, but customers in your country still prefer to insert their card rather than make a contactless payment, for example in France or Belgium.

  • You want to use the Viva.com Terminal App on a tablet or mobile phone that does not have an NFC reader, such as an iPad.

  • You want to accept card payments on an iPhone and your business is registered in a country where Tap to Pay on iPhone is not yet available.

  • You use your phone or tablet on a countertop and want a small, always-connected device close to the customer.

The Mini Card Reader works exclusively when paired with a device running the Viva.com Terminal App.
